PCAA organizes 2 Rookie Baseball Divisions, and players are placed based on skill level and/or age following evaluations.
Rookie 1 (generally 5-6 year olds). Coach Pitch from shortened distance with 'no pitch' calls at the umpire's discretion. Simplified baserunning rules to ensure defensive skill development.
Rookie 2 (generally 7-8 year olds). Coach Pitch from standard distance without 'no pitch' calls. More traditional baserunning / advancement rules and emphasis on making swing / no-swing decisions.
